Maintaining a design system that is intuitive, scalable, and accessible to both designers and developers.
Whilst working with R/GA’s design team, part of my role has involved maintaining and building upon Toyota’s Design System. I worked collaboratively with a team of designers, iterating and refining elements of the design system, as well as adding new elements.
Utilising atomic design system principles, Toyota’s design system is able to flex across multiple digital ecosystems, which was achieved by establishing a unified set of design principles, components, and guidelines, in order ensure consistency and efficiency. This process involved adhering to Toyota’s existing brand guidelines, and ensuring that the system is efficiently built and structured in Figma, so that it is easily adaptable in a rapidly changing digital landscape, whilst also maintaining a recognisable identity.
